If I have a health problem how do I find out if I am claiming the universal credit?
Read out the Universal Credit details for the type of condition you have and your household income. If you have very serious or long term health conditions, you should get specialist help with health care (such as mental health help). You may also be eligible to receive some money in the form of Jobseeker’s Allowance or Employment Support Allowance.

Is it true that universal credit is a benefit of a particular type?
Yes. Universal credit is a benefit of a particular type based on your income – you can only get universal credit if you earn less than half of the amount a family member or adult person earns. For example, a group with a £60,000 income would not be entitled to universal credit.
What if my family is on universal credit?
You’re eligible to keep some basic necessities, such as food, clothing and transport expenses, if anyone in your household is on universal credit. The maximum amount you can keep is £130 a week.
