You can make great rap with a certain skill set. For example, if you’re a musician, you have to have great phrasing and great words (although you should also keep in mind that you can play any instrument and even a keyboard if you get stuck). You should also have good timing with your phrasing. Most rap music is written in a rhythmic way; you have to be able to move the notes to be able to rhyme.
