I’m a big fan of Eminem. He has one of the best beats on this album. I always listen to it when I’m getting ready for a fight or something. What they did on the track with the beat is what we did on last year’s record and it worked and it looked good. The best part of the record is Eminem. It’s like The Eminem Show. He just does that every minute of the minute of Eminem.
Where did the idea of a song like “Rap God” come from?
It was kind of my idea from the beginning but then I got a tape outta Compton where they were like, “What are you going to do for your next song? What song?” That’s when the idea about this rapper comes from. It was a combination of like, “Who cares if we put this rap on our album? We don’t care about that.”
Do you feel like I did the right thing by not putting that rap on my album?
No, because that rap is what made “Rap God” special. For me, I had never heard it, but it made me feel like, “Oh, this is something I should know because who doesn’t want that?”
Do you feel like Eminem’s raps are as good as the songs on the album?
I don’t know if they are as good as the songs. Eminem does have a good voice so people really come to listen to him sometimes. He’s just different with the raps. He could rap like Rick Ross. He’s just different.
What do you think is the best song on Rap God?
There’s like five of them. The good ones are “The Real Slim Shady,” “Rap God” and “Get Low.” “Big Pimpin'” is like the biggest rapping on this album. When I listen, I find that he goes back and forth and that raps is pretty fast. That’s the way I rap. You don’t get me to stop and slow it down and stop every song. I have some different rhymes, some different phrases. It’s kind of like Eminem’s rapping style is different. I like to think that’s kinda how the raps on the whole record is.
Is there a reason that you chose to rap on the new one or the previous two?
No, that’s not my style. I’m kinda like the guy that everybody loves that they just want to
