What influenced rap? – How To Rap 2020

“I don’t know. I was so young. It was always in my thoughts that I wanted to play on an 80s radio show. So I started working with that. It’s like, “Man, I’m trying to get on the radio and get a record deal.” I remember seeing a music video for the single “The Beat Goes On” where all the other rappers are like, “That is so fucking awesome!” But he just stuck with that and just stayed with it.

You can tell your family’s thinking, they’re all wondering how you’re doing. That’s all I’m worried about. Everything else is secondary. I’m just worrying about winning the league game.”

Why do you think Drake, Kanye and Jay-Z have such big rap fan followings?

“I just think, “I don’t give a fuck who the music critic is. If they like the music they like, they like me.” Like for the people that think I’m like, ”
