Not really, really? I can play a nice arpeggio, a minor key, a scale of a scale, and also the classic fingerpicking fingering for that one-two. It’s all about picking, like fingerpicking is supposed to be. And when you’re learning, you’re learning to control all the sounds you’re picking with the one tool that comes along with that practice. A tool like guitar, and a technique like fingerpicking.

What would you say to those people who are practicing fingerpicking alone without any other instrument? “I don’t have any other instruments, so just practice fingerpicking as much as you can. When you start having problems, it means that you’re just starting to pick and fingerpick. Then, just keep going.”

What is your opinion of jazz guitarists?

I just think there’s a lot of hype. It’s hard to say. I just really like the way it works! You can pick and play with all three fingers. You can play rhythm. You can play everything. It really isn’t a big deal. It’s like playing any other instrument. It works for you, it helps you, and I definitely understand that.

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kōhei Horikoshi ‘s Puella Magi Madoka Magica manga announced in April that the new season will premiere this winter. The website teased in its announcement that “a huge surprise is coming.”
