I have friends who want to have the beautiful ukulele for the orchestra and I have not really been convinced yet. I just love a ukulele that plays beautiful notes, and I’ve always dreamed of using the beautiful soprano ukulele for that. There is a few other instruments that I think also would be excellent for a solo ukulele, though I don’t know which ones.

The man arrested after a manhunt in a southern Oregon neighborhood Wednesday evening was a man in his early- to mid-30s who was “highly agitated” and “violent” and was a person of interest in this case, according to the FBI’s Portland Division.

The FBI said that as an active lead in the case, it had been following the information, and was in contact with law enforcement. The agency also noted that a preliminary investigation indicates the suspect shot and killed himself.

The FBI said a male identified by law enforcement as Robert B. Clark had come out of his apartment and taken a gun out before entering another apartment. The man had allegedly gone inside the apartment and that “a confrontation ensued in which a male subject shot and killed the subject.”

Authorities said Clark was a licensed gun owner in Oregon.

Oregon has strict laws in place that prohibit people from carrying weapons outside of their homes if they are not invited in by a law enforcement official. But there is also no federal law that extends the same protection.

The investigation began about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday when officers arrived at the apartment complex at 14700 W. Halsey St. that had been the scene of a shooting early Wednesday.

Officials believe Clark shot at officers in the apartment.

Police Chief Larry O’Dea said that there may have been more people inside that apartment than initially believed, because there had been several gunshots.

A witness, who did not want to name the man, said the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door and fired shots at people inside.

O’Dea said Clark, in his mid-30s, was taken into custody outside the apartment.
