This depends on the image itself, of course, but many people have an intuitive sense of what looks good in their work. Many have an instinct to try and look familiar, so once again, the key is to make the art you love but not too obvious.

If people are used to seeing or hearing your artwork, they will recognize it, and vice-versa.

How do I make my art a part of my story?

This is something you’re going to have to figure out for yourself, but the first step is to tell you audience the story that the artwork is part of.

A good way to do that is by using quotes from your work. You can even find quotes in your own artwork like in the above examples.

Make them into one-paragraph stories that explain to people something about your work.

In the same way, if you have a piece of artwork that you feel would help in a story you would like to tell, you can write it in the form of a story page.

This would be great if you were telling a story for your fans, or to tell a story to yourself if you didn’t like your work.

Don’t worry if the artwork looks like a generic piece of artwork, there is no need to make it your main graphic for your story page. It’s important to note this here though, because you want to make your art stand out from other work in the portfolio.

Why do I choose to use quotes or images from my artwork?

I actually believe that the more the audience can really take in your artwork, the better the art will look, so why should they ever see them on your portfolio?

I believe more and more people are taking in my artwork so I want to use that as much as possible, and if it means the more people can enjoy your artwork, I’m all for it.

It’s something people will remember

It gives you a visual element in your portfolio
