MISSOULA, Mont. — A woman accused of kidnapping and torturing a man she accused of being gay said she is not a monster and that the only victims her alleged assault had were herself and her child.
The Montpelier Daily Herald reports 27-year-old Marjorie F. Ritz is the sole accused in a brutal case involving three men who were forced to perform oral sex on her, beaten and stabbed.
Prosecutors say she called the men her son and a boyfriend during the abuse.
The paper identified the three as John L. McCartney, 32, Justin C. Hinton, 21, and Michael P. Janssen, 30. Each was charged with second-degree rape and kidnapping. McCartney is also charged with second-degree battery.
Court documents say McCartney first abducted L. after L dropped him off on June 13, 2009, in Missoula. He said it was the first date he ever had in the city with the man, and he had nothing more than a handshake.
McCartney then followed and attacked him, punching, kicking and scratching his face before dragging him, he alleged, into his mother’s Montpelier apartment, where he took him to another room for the abuse.
