I believe it’s about 15-20 years. We got good at stuff from 5. But we got very bad at it from 10. We could always use more experience.

I’ve gotten about 6 dozen questions and comments about some of the answers by the other guys over at this site. The one I wanted to address is a little different than the others and I thought I would try to put it out there.

I’m a bit of a “gotcha” kind of guy when it comes to the rules of the game. (Not that my answers are “gotcha” per se and all that. Rather, I use a little bit of humor with my answers and explain how, perhaps, those of us who are not as good as me might do it. Of course, I’ve only been playing competitively 3 years. I’m starting to lose some of my sense of humor. And I was not at all involved in the creation of the official rules. (I only did what was asked.) I have, however, found my own way of doing things with respect to the rules, and that has a lot to teach me.

Anyway, my answers may not make sense to anyone who is new to the game, and I’m sure that anyone who is experienced will find at least some of them to be a bit silly. If you can bear that, feel free to skip them.

The rules of the game are fairly complex, though, and you need to be able to apply common sense when playing. You may wish to consult, for example, this post which provides the key concept of “Rook.” I’m not sure if the rules really explain it, but I do think that there are a few ways to think in Rook.

And you will likely need to consider the possibilities of getting something from your opponent. There is no “bad” or “good” card, nor are there specific “good” or “bad” cards to be created. Some decks are better than others, but there is no “good” or “bad” way to construct a deck.
