A long-term perspective

As a buyer, I generally want to buy when something has a low PE ratio. I don’t care if the stock is trading above or below this level, but I want to make sure the return is at least average. I typically buy a stock once it goes over this value, and then when it reaches this value again it will move back towards the low point that was the high point before.

As a seller, I generally buy at a price that is at a point below the PE ratio. I often buy the stock if there is a chance it will fall and then jump back up. I want to buy when there is still enough of value in the stock to justify the risk, but I don’t want to pay too much for it.
