We offer the Woodturner of the Year award, an award given to our local woodturners and professionals. The award pays our award-winning woodworker $1,000 in cash as the woodworker travels to places around the world to hone and polish his/her skills.

You need a workbench, table, and some basic tools.

When should I make a request?

We always welcome request for a new project, or a project that has not yet been planned. Requesting a task or design for free and then going ahead is a good way to get something that you love to do without spending much money. When making a request, please tell us why you want to do it. We will then consider it, and if we decide to implement it, we will let you know when the time comes.

How will you provide my wood work?

We strive to provide you with the best quality product available to you. We will use only the highest quality woods available. We will source the best materials for your work. We will always make you an item that you can stand proudly holding and looking proud of.

When should I make a purchase?

The most important part of a project is planning, planning, and planning! There are many things to consider after you have begun working that are beyond the scope of this guide. In fact, these can take a very long time, but we always want to get you ready. Our goal is always to help you get started and keep you on-track to make a great project, so if you need any more help, feel free to leave a message for us.

An environmental group has called on the Scottish government to back a new project that would be developed “to deliver sustainable food and environmental benefits”, including a fish garden on the top of the Scottish National Railway line.

Plans for a fish garden at the line will be put before the Scottish Government’s environmental committee this week and will be followed by further consultation when the £7.4m project goes to cabinet.

Green MSP Joanna Cherry said it was “incredibly important” the project had support from ministers.

SNP MSP Patrick Harvie said the proposal was not “beneath the pale”.
